Best Online Gallery Solutions for Photographers in 2026: Choosing Platforms That Support Your Business (and Your Values)
Online galleries have become so much more than a way to simply send photos to clients. Many offer photographers additional features, such as selling prints directly through the online gallery, slideshow creation, and some even offer additional features such as contracts and invoices.
In today’s world, your online gallery is so much more than a way to deliver photos. It’s part of your brand, a key piece of your client experience, and one of the quiet systems running your business behind the scenes.
However, choosing an online gallery service in 2026 isn’t a straightforward task for many photographers, as people start considering more than just features and pricing. Photographers who have been with the same gallery providers for many years are now starting to look for alternatives.
How the Conversation About Online Gallery Alternatives Began
Every subscription we pay is also a choice about how our data is handled, which companies we support, and where our money ultimately flows. Whether you’re thinking about client privacy, global data laws, or simply wanting tools that feel more aligned with your values, this guide explores the best online gallery solutions for photographers, along with meaningful alternatives to mainstream platforms, so you can choose a gallery that supports both your business and the kind of world you want to help create.
Photographers Looking for Pic-Time Alternatives
I noticed the conversation around looking for alternative gallery providers started in photography forums and social media groups, where many photographers were asking each other a simple question: “Are there online gallery alternatives to Pic-Time” (an Israel-incorporated company). While Pic-Time is possibly leading the industry in terms of style and features, for the photographers asking this question, the issue wasn’t the features. It was about the company itself and what it publicly supports (and doesn’t support). While Pic-Time highlights charitable giving in some areas, like helping victims of the war in Ukraine, it has not taken a public stance speaking out against the situation in Palestine – something many photographers feel is important.
The WeTransfer AI Controversy
Another conversation that sparked debate and discussion across the photography industry was the quiet change of WeTransfer’s Terms and Conditions to allow user-uploaded files to be utilized for AI model training. This created a huge uproar across many creative industries, not just photography, and led to them backtracking and revising their T&Cs again.
Moving Away from American Tech
With the increasing tensions between the EU and the USA, many European businesses are looking to move away from their reliance on American tech. However, the alternatives out there are still few and far between. While alternatives do exist, changing providers may result in decreased functionality.
Because many photographers run their businesses intentionally, wanting their money to reflect their own principles, this sparked a broader discussion: are there platforms that combine great features with values alignment? From that small forum question, a wider conversation has grown. Photographers are now exploring alternatives that allow them to feel confident not only in how they deliver their work, but in how their tools fit into the world they want to help shape. What started as a simple question about one platform has turned into a movement of creatives seeking options that work for their workflow and for their conscience.
Most Popular Online Gallery Providers Among Photographers
Before we start to explore some of the lesser-known gallery providers, let’s recap the current industry leaders:
Pic-Time
I’ve been a Pic-Time user since 2018, when they introduced their product at a conference I was attending. While the look of the galleries was great, it was the sales features that prompted me to switch from Pixieset.
As a destination elopement photographer, where my clients are travelling from around the world, the biggest selling point for me was a software that enabled me to link each individual client gallery to a print lab in their region.
Company based in: Israel
Integrated print shop: Yes. Automatic fulfilment from labs across the globe.
Marketing Automations: Yes
Slidehows: Yes
Supports video: Yes
Price for 100GB: $21 month

Pixieset
I moved away from Pixieset in 2018, as it was falling behind options like Pic-Time in terms of features. While it has come on since then, it is still lacking some of the features offered by other galleries, such as marketing automations. However, what draws many photographers to Pixieset is the ability to use the whole suite, which includes a website, online gallery, print store, CRM, and mobile app.
Company based in: Canada
Integrated print shop: Yes. Automatic fulfilment from labs in North America, Australia, & the UK.
Marketing Automations: No. Discount codes & promo banners only.
Slidehows: No
Supports video: Yes
Price for 100GB: $16 USD month

Pass Galleries
Pass was the first ever gallery solution that I used back in 2016 when I was delivering my first galleries to clients. However, they quickly fell behind in terms of the features. Now they have made a full upgrade and are heavily focused on the sales aspect, with their online galleries designed to promote and encourage more print sales with a customizable print store and curated packages.
Company based in: USA
Integrated print shop: Yes. Automatic fulfillment from labs in the USA & UK
Marketing Automations: Yes
Slidehows: Yes
Supports video: No
Price for 100GB: $20 month

Shootproof
Shootproof is one of the best options on the market for photographers who are looking for a CRM and online gallery combined. The online galleries offer the major features that photographers are looking for, such as an integrated print shop linked to the best labs worldwide, with the additional advantage of also having contracts and invoices in the same place.
Company based in: USA
Integrated print shop: Yes. Automatic fulfillment possible.
Marketing Automations: Yes
Slidehows: Yes – but upgrade required for music

Price for 100GB: $16.67 month for 5000 Photos (max 250GB)

SmugMug
SmugMug is a great option if you want unlimited online storage of your photos (including RAW files) with the option to also share them as online galleries. Their Portfolio plan also offers the option for print sales and includes a website.
Company based in: USA
Integrated print shop: Option to upgrade for print shop

Sprout Studio
Sprout Studio really pride themselves on being a single tool that has everything you’ll need as a professional photographer – including online galleries. However, despite the fact that online galleries are not their main focus, they are pretty decent.
Company based in: Canada
Integrated print shop: Yes – Automated fulfillment from their partner lab
Marketing Automations: Yes – but not sure if these are gallery-specific
Slidehows: Yes
Supports video: Yes – but only as an embedded link
Price for 100GB: $33 USD month

Wfolio
Wfolio is an online gallery and website solution out of Hong Kong. While their primary product is a Website + Drive, their Drive-only offer is almost unbeatable – because you can get 120GB of storage for free. The galleries themselves are nicely designed, but do lack the advanced functionality that many photographers are looking for, such as automatic print fulfilment, marketing automations, and slidehows. Their Website + Drive option is also the most competitive I’ve seen, at just $50 a year (with 50% off your first year if you use this link).
Company based in: Hong Kong
Integrated print shop: Yes – but self-fulfill only. Automatic fulfillment is in development.
Marketing Automations: No
Slidehows: No
Supports video: Yes
Price for 100GB: FREE for up to 120GB (with these conditions). Unlimited $5 month.
*3 months of a free trial on the Site + Disk 120 plan

Zno Gallery
Zno Gallery is a sleek-looking gallery with an online shop option. And at $12 a month, it’s one of the cheapest options on the market for the functionality that it offers. However, while the online store offers some cool features like “Wall art preview” which allows clients to see how their print would look on their wall at home, it lacks the marketing automations that have become very popular for driving print sales. Zno also offers a full suite option, which includes a CRM and website at a very competitive rate – an option that might be perfect for photographers on a budget but who still want everything integrated.
Company based in: USA
Integrated print shop: Yes. Automatic fulfilment from labs around the globe.
Marketing Automations: No.
Slidehows: Yes
Supports video: Yes
Price for 100GB: $12 USD month

Zenfolio
Zenfolio started out as portfolio websites and online galleries, but has since extended to include CRM features too. It’s tailored to meet the needs of photographers working across different niches, not just wedding photographers.
Company based in: USA
Integrated print shop: Yes – Various automated fulfilment labs in USA & UK

Price for 100GB: $11.50 for 150GB

From what I can tell, Scrappbook offers everything that most major online galleries offer: beautiful-looking galleries, a print store, slideshows, and marketing automation, along with other great features such as AI-assisted album design. The catch? It’s currently only available in German. But for the German photographers out there, we think this is a fantastic product!

This makes it a great solution for photographers who offer things such as commercial photography.

Things to consider when choosing your online gallery provider
Different photographers will have different priorities when choosing an online gallery provider. For some, it might be the functionality that’s important, while for others, the price might be the deciding factor. Then of course, there’s also the question of where the business is located, and their alignment with your values as a business. For many, there is no easy and obvious solution, and the software you choose might be a compromise between functionality and values.
Here are some of the things you’ll want to consider when choosing the right solution for you:
1. Where your business is located vs. Where your clients are located
This is a key consideration for photographers who mostly work with destination couples, as while you might be based in one geographic region, your clients may be predominantly from another region. This is the case for me, as while I am based in the EU, my clients are predominantly from North America. This means that I personally look for gallery providers that offer automatic print fulfilment from labs in North America, as this is where my clients are based.
2. Sales & Marketing Functions
While most online galleries offer the option for clients to order prints and albums from the gallery, not all of them offer automatic fulfillment. If you want to be able to upsell prints and albums, but don’t want to handle the ordering and shipping yourselves, choose an option with automatic fulfilment. The same goes for marketing automations. If you’re happy to set up your own marketing campaigns to promote print sales, you might not need this function. But for many photographers, automated marketing campaigns can generate additional sales without any additional work.
3. Slideshows, GIFS, and Video
Depending on whether you’re a stills-only or photo + video provider, you’ll want to pick a gallery that lets you deliver your final products in the formats you want to. Many now offer video & GIF functions, but some do require an upgrade for additional video storage.
Slideshows are another functionality that can be nice to have, but not all photographers use them. Galleries that let you create a slideshow within the platform can certainly be a great way to wow your clients with slideshows without needing a separate piece of software to create them.
4. Company Values & Location
For some photographers, this might be the priority, while for others it may not be relevant. But if this is something that matters to you, look at things like where the company is based (if you are trying to boycott Israeli or American companies) and their company values, such as actively supporting sustainability and DEI.
5. GDPR & Data Privacy Laws
Check their Privacy Policy to check that they comply with the data protection and privacy laws that you are required to follow as per where your business is based.
Choosing software is often seen as a purely technical decision, but for many, it is also an act of political activism. Selecting or avoiding a company based on its home region, such as the USA or Israel, is a way for consumers to align their spending with their values.
Even when the company is a small business with an excellent product, a boycott is rarely a reflection of the business owners themselves; rather, it is a response to the fact that their tax contributions support a government whose actions or policies you may fundamentally oppose. For photographers looking to “stand up for what is right,” this approach turns a subscription fee into a tool for systemic pressure, ensuring that your professional tools aren’t indirectly financing causes you don’t believe in.
At the end of the day, choosing an online gallery provider comes down to a number of things – the functions and features that the gallery offers, the requirements you have in your business, the cost, and, for some photographers, also the ethics of that particular company. There’s no single clear solution, but rather, a number of options out there.
